The Spearhead. Driven Into History.
They were activated for one mission: take Iwo Jima. And they did — at a cost that still echoes. The 5th Marine Division landed on the left flank of the black sand beaches on February 19, 1945, drove through some of the most ferocious defensive fighting in the history of warfare, and it was a 5th MarDiv Marine — Ira Hayes — who helped raise the flag on Mount Suribachi. The 5th Marine Division Diamond Plate T-Shirt carries that legacy in steel — a bold, industrial diamond plate design for the division that was the tip of the spear at the most iconic battle in Marine Corps history. This is 5th MarDiv pride, worn by those who know what it cost.

The Story Behind the Design: A spearhead is the point that goes in first — the sharpest edge, taking the full force of impact so everything behind it can follow. That was the 5th Marine Division at Iwo Jima. Activated in January 1944 and built specifically for the assault on Iwo, they hit the beach on D-Day and never stopped pushing. They took Mount Suribachi in four days. They fought through the northern end of the island in some of the bloodiest close-quarters combat of the Pacific War. By the time the island was declared secure, the 5th MarDiv had suffered nearly 8,000 casualties. The flag went up. The price was paid. This shirt is for the Marines and families who carry that history.
Perfect For: 5th Marine Division veterans and descendants, Iwo Jima battle families and historians, Camp Pendleton Marines, WWII Pacific theater enthusiasts, and anyone who knows the legacy of The Spearhead and wears it with pride.
