The Story Behind the Design: Diamond plate steel is built for one thing: to hold its grip when the ground shifts beneath you. That’s the 3rd Marine Division. At Iwo Jima in February 1945, the 3rd MarDiv drove through the center of the island while the world watched the flag go up on Surabachi — their assault broke the Japanese defensive line and made the victory possible. In Vietnam, they were the first full Marine division committed to combat, fighting in I Corps for years in some of the war’s most brutal terrain. The Striking Third doesn’t wait to be hit.
