Leatherneck - And You - Giving Back To The Military Community

We're all about bringing you great, all-American USMC apparel and patriotic gear, but at our roots, we at Leatherneck4Life know the most important thing is taking care of our service members. (Cool swag is just the proverbial icing on the cake.)

We're proud to participate in a variety of programs and work with national charities to make sure a percentage of our proceeds are going right back to the folks we represent - the veterans and active duty personnel who have given so much - sometimes everything they have- for our great nation.

Last week Leatherneck4Life founder Tom O'Reilly joined up with other contributors to work with ES Riders, a division of Easter Seals which helps individuals with mobility needs. Together, they facilitated the donation of a badass, 6-occupancy vehicle to the New Hampshire Veterans Home in Tilton, New Hampshire. Manchester Mayor Ted Gatsas, who also donated for the vehicle, and a representative for New Hampshire Senator Kelly Ayotte joined Tom at the presentation.

Best part is all those vets who are going to be cruising in style now. According to the Union Leader, that day “a 94-year-old female World War II veteran saw portions of the facility’s grounds for the first time.”

But how else are we giving back? Here's a couple other worthy causes that your purchases at Leatherneck4Life directly contribute to.

The MARSOC Foundation

The MARSOC Foundation provides benevolent support to the U. S. Marine Corps Forces Special Operations Command (MARSOC). As a 501(c)(3) non-profit, the Foundation supports active duty and medically retired MARSOC personnel and their families, as well as the families of Marines who have lost their lives in service to our Nation.

Bestselling author Michael Golembesky has been working with the MARSOC Foundation since his first book, Level Zero Heroes, was published. His newest book hits bookstores on September 20. Dagger 22 tells the true story of the 22 men of Marine Special Operations Team 8222, callsign Dagger 22, in the remote and hostile river valley of Bala Murghab, Afghanistan. Through the brutal winter of 2010, they persevere with one goal: eliminate the Taliban command cell in the the village of Daneh Pasab. In April, they succeed - but for the Dagger 22, the journey is far from over.

This year, we’ve teamed up to produce the Dagger 22/MARSOC Foundation t-shirt together, and $7.00 from every sale of the official Dagger 22 tee goes to the MARSOC Foundation to support active duty Marines, veterans and their families.

The challenges a Marine faces don't end when they come home - for some, they are just beginning. The MARSOC Foundation assists injured veterans with advanced rehabilitation, operational health and performance programs and equipment as well as providing assistance for their families. They support and financially aid the families of fallen Marines in the challenges they face. And they help these veterans and their families reintegrate into a world that can sometimes seem as foreign as the one they came from.

Veterans Count

Veterans Count is an Easter Seals program, formed to assist the veterans and their families whose lives have been irrevocably impacted by warzone deployment. Veterans Count has received the highest praise and support from our national and local elected officials and is viewed as a comprehensive and successful model to emulate throughout the country. As more and more service members and their families continue to struggle with the challenges of multiple deployments, the need to provide support continues to grow.

As we all know, 2016 marks the 15th memorial of the horrific and cowardly attacks of September 11, 2001 that claimed the lives of nearly 3000 innocent victims. The 9/11 Never Forget – Never Forgive tee was designed to honor the people who lost their lives and to their family and friends whose world was changed forever on that day. We also remember the servicemen and women who have fought for America in the fifteen years since.

To that end, we’re donating $5.00 from every sale of the Never Forget tee to Veterans Count. This charitable organization provides aid to many veterans who have served our country in the War on Terror spawned from the attacks of September 11th. Your contribution through the purchase of this Never Forget tee will enable active duty service members, veterans or their families to receive employment counseling, emergency financial assistance, mental health support, deployment support and substance abuse services.

Thanks for helping to make a difference with us.

(Oh, and bonus: you get a free Koozie with every purchase of the Dagger 22 or 9/11 tees through 9/11/16. And thank you for your support of the military community.)
